The Google Pixel 3 XL has had a truly comical amount of leaks to date, but for the most part its younger, smaller brother has been a bit a more camera-shy. Well, today we finally have some purported photos of the real-life baby Pixel 3 via an anonymous Reddit user who leaked the shots that were discovered by 9to5Google . The device seems to have a modest forehead and chin, certainly a bit larger than what we’ve seen on the screen-to-body ratio of the Pixel XL 3 photo leaks, but it seems to be a marked improvement over the smaller-bodied Pixel 2 and seems pretty similar to a miniature Pixel 2 XL in design. We also have some screenshots of the phone’s specs pointing to a 5.5 inch 2160 x 1080 display that’s rocking 440 dpi. We were able to write over 3,000 words about everything we know about it and the event is still over a month away.  While all of these leaks have been pouring in, one question has been on our mind: where is the Google Pixel 3? We finally have our first look. We’ve seen the Pixel 3 in renders before, but never real-life photos. The Pixel 3 is a smaller device with the same specs, but one really big difference: no display notch. The display notch has been a big point of contention with the Pixel 3 XL leaks. While pretty much everything about the Pixel 3 XL is out in the open , we don’t actually know when it (or its smaller variant) will be announced. Many assumed that for the third year in a row we’d be seeing an October 4th launch, but a report from Bloomberg actually suggests that to be incorrect. According to the report, Google intends to launch the new Google Pixel devices at a media event in New York City on October 9th. Previously, the Pixel devices were launched in San Francisco. Given that it’s  Bloomberg , there’s no real reason to doubt the report. That’s not all we expect to see announced at the time, either. According to WinFuture , we could well be seeing the introduction of not one, not two, but three new Google Pixel smartwatches . When we talk about custom launchers, often people will mention the ones based on or similar to the Google Pixel Launcher. There’s Lawnchair , Lean Launcher , Rootless Pixel Launcher , Ruthless and more. Rootless Pixel Launcher is an especially interesting one in that it’s based on Android’s open source Launcher3 and merged with decompiled Pixel Launcher sources. It’s developed by Amir Zaidi, who has been working on the project since the original Google Pixel released. Lean Launcher and an upcoming Lawnchair release actually already use it as a base and add their own features on top of it. In a sense, Rootless Pixel Launcher is simply a stable software base which other developers can take and add to. Today, we’re learning a little more about the front-facing cameras on the Pixel 3 devices and why the notch is so big on the Pixel 3 XL. According to sources at 9to5Google , the dual front-facing cameras are for better selfies, something Google may call “Super Selfies.” Both the Pixel 3 XL and smaller Pixel 3 have these dual cameras, but they are more noticeable in the notch on the XL. The photos are said to have more faux bokeh improvements in Portrait Mode.
