ASUS has had their ZenFone series of smartphones for a while now and they continue to grow it by adding on more descriptive names as the years go by. The company released the ZenFone Max Pro M1 only a few months ago  and since then it has been able to garner a dedicated following thanks to its low price and decent mid-range specifications. The company’s success with the device has even led them to drop their flash sales model to offer the device 24/7 within India . The stock ROM on the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 is pretty barebones and close to stock Android, but some of you may still want more from your device. Thankfully, that’s where custom ROMs like the newly released official LineageOS 15.1 come in.

So for anyone who owns the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, you’ll be happy to hear that you can now install LineageOS 15.1 for the device. The ROM is made by the same developers behind the phone’s recent Android Pie port , but if you’re looking for something a bit more stable, then check out this ROM at the link below.

Now some people like to believe that the Android tablet market is dead. Google certainly believes this as they haven’t released a proper tablet in years and the laptop they produced last year was running Chrome OS . In actuality though, some people are still enjoying the Android tablet without the need of tossing in Chrome OS. Lenovo is one of those companies who has not given up on the idea of a regular Android for an operating system on a tablet. The Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus was released in 2016 with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow installed on it and it eventually received an update from Lenovo to 7.1.1 Nougat.

It’s rare to see companies push out major updates to devices that are 2+ years old (especially tablets) so fans of the device were stuck thinking that the features of Nougat were all they would have access to. However, the online developer community and some folks behind the popular LineageOS custom ROM are keeping the Yoga Tab 3 Plus alive with an update to LineageOS 15.1 (aka Oreo). If you’re familiar with this tablet then you’ll know that there are two variants of the device, a WiFi model and an LTE model (which has been common among the tablet market). So even more great news is that LineageOS 15.1 will be supporting both the LTE as well as the WiFi version.

How to change the PIM of a VeraCrypt volume

The developers of VeraCrypt introduced Personal Iterations Multiplier (PIM) functionality in the encryption program in version 1.12 . PIM stands for "Personal Iterations Multiplier". It is a parameter that was introduced in VeraCrypt 1.12 and whose value controls the number of iterations used by the header key derivation function. PIM is used by volumes even if the creator of the volume did not specify a value. It is an optional component that improves security: it adds another step to the authentication process similarly to two-factor authentication. The main difference is that the PIM value is fixed and not generated on the fly when requested. An attacker needs to know the master password and the PIM, if not set to default, to breach the encryption successfully and access the content of the drive or partition. A couple of good reasons exist to change the PIM value: It was leaked or stolen. The default value is used and that is not as secure as using a custom PIM. Yo...
